As part of our commitment to providing top-quality renewable energy solutions, Kestrel utilises a selection of preferred towers, controllers, and modules for our installations.
A monopole free-standing tower is preferred for the installation of Kestrel micro wind turbines. Monopole towers are usually available in 6m (20’), 12m (40’) and 18m (60’) versions.
Other acceptable tower types include lattice construction and tripod towers. Guyed towers are preferred when much greater heights are desired.

Renewable energy sources such as wind turbines and solar panels generate uncontrolled power that must be regulated to facilitate the correct and safe charging of storage batteries.
The Kestrel TS45 Charge Controller uses electronic means to regulate the incoming power and apply the correct charging voltage to the installed battery.

Renewable energy sources such as wind turbines and solar panels are often connected to a charge controller, which diverts any unwanted energy to a power resistor. The power resistor converts electrical energy into heat energy.
The Kestrel Type 0601 range of diversion resistors consists of wall-mounted enclosures that contain electrical resistors that dissipate the energy in the atmosphere. Each version is designed to have a specific electrical resistance and power capability.

Kestrel utilises the MidNite Clipper and Classic MPPT Charge Controller for our installations. These products are designed to work together to provide safe and reliable control of wind turbines while also giving true three-stage charging of batteries.
